About the position

The Vice President and Associate Provost for Research (VPAPR) at Boston University is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the university's research initiatives and ensuring support for extramurally funded research. Requirements

  • Significant leadership experience in research administration.

  • Experience in developing cross-disciplinary research ventures.
  • Strong collaboration skills with deans, administrators, faculty, and external constituents.
  • Understanding of research faculty needs and support mechanisms.
  • Experience with complex agreements and extramural research initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of research financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of sponsored program operations and federal agency support programs.
  • Experience in technology development, patents, licensing, and industry engagement.
