About the position

The Vice President Corporate Controller at Genesys Cloud Services, Inc. is a key executive role responsible for overseeing the core operational aspects of accounting and controls within the organization. This position involves collaboration with the Chief Accounting Officer and the broader finance leadership team to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements across global operations. The Corporate Controller will lead a global team, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve global close processes for the company.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition across various software product offerings in line with ASC 606 standards.
  • Optimize internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and coordinate with auditors for controls testing.
  • Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats to financial stability and growth.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies ensuring compliance with US standards.
  • Develop diverse talent to promote team retention and meet business needs.
  • Mentor the accounting team to increase job satisfaction and engagement.
  • Oversee accounting integration and valuation for mergers & acquisitions.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with the strategic finance team.
  • Implement acquired businesses into the financial systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience, with at least 6 years at a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably in a public software or technology company.
  • Strong collaborative and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Experience managing global accounting operations and working with international subsidiaries is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop influential relationships across teams and functions.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and flexibility.
