Find your fit - and your future. We are looking for a VP, Finance US & Canada who will report to SVP Global Commercial and Corporate FP&A in addition to the Managing Director of US and Canada. The role will be leading a team of over 30 employees and several other indirect resources. You will provide financial leadership for all areas of the US and Canada business. This includes our DTC and Wholesale operation. This is a visible role and will be an important member of the Cluster Leadership Team. You will lead financial results for all business channels and provides leadership and coordination for activities such as budgeting and forecasting. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and insight to help meet financial goals across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities, including annual budgeting and quarterly forecasts for revenue, margin, and operating expenses working with commercial leaders in the US and Canada
• Be a trusted partner to the Managing Director and to important partners (internal and external) meeting to review current period results and to gather information for forecast updates.
• Co-Lead the accounting closing process (US GAAP), consistent with required corporate and fiscal deadlines, ensuring accounting principles and global finance policies are followed (SOX, US GAAP)
• Guide the financial strategy for US and Canada for the long term, including the vision and Strategic Business Plan (SBP) including special projects
• Lead the financial portion of Monthly Business Review (MBR), and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and participate in the regular meeting rhythm with cluster leadership.
• Lead the financial portion of the inventory planning/purchasing processes and integration with financial budgeting (preparation of the open-to-buy budgets)
• Lead direct daily oversight of the retail and wholesale business including evaluation of store performance (Indicators and P&Ls) and capital investments, to make strategic decisions about best use of cash
• Develop business cases for all capital investments in the cluster, including new stores, distribution center investments, systems and new channel development, to maximize Return on investment and working capital.
• Support for Ad hoc presentations to upper management, steering committee, etc.
• Lead important daily business decision support with management including decisions on pricing, promotion, credit terms for wholesale accounts, inventory purchasing, etc for all channels and brands in the region
• Support the working capital management activities including trade receivable terms and collection efforts and inventory management to maximize cash flow and improving cash conversion cycle
• Lead elements of compliance in regards of trade investment (Pricing and Dilution) and other related SOX, global controls and audits requirements
• Work with global IT teams to implement and configure systems to improve finance processes, integrate with LS&Co systems and ways of working.
• Manage SG&A, OPEX and CAPEX investment and lead long-term optimization, including A&P Return on investment measures and profitability indicators
• Lead the finance team in cluster with direct reporting relationships as determined.
• Make strategic decisions around organizational structure of team to ensure productivity and efficiencies, aligned with global goals
• Foster a culture of financial discipline, innovation and collaboration across the organization

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. in Business, Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Economics. MBA, licensed accountature (CPA, CFA) preferred, or equivalent experience
• Broad knowledge of financial analysis, financial math, financial engineering, P&L and B/S management, accounting, consolidation and reporting
• 12+ years of progressive Finance and Accounting experience, on FP&A roles. This can include Retail finance, overall P&L management, FP&A manager, Costing manager or cost accounting, trade investment manager, SRM (Strategic Revenue Management); background in Financial strategy and Operations
• Experience working in a multinational company, with matrix organizational structure.
• Experience with Oracle/Hyperion financial applications (e.g. Essbase and HFM) and SAP is desirable
• Experience managing dual ledger (US GAAP and Local Ledger in Canada) for accounting purposes
• Experience managing and coaching large teams (at least 5 direct reports, 10-12 indirect reports)
• Experience with CAPEX forecasting and planning which includes operations, cash flow and financial accounting. Full Market P&L ownership is desirable
• Experience working with financial outsourced service centers offshore and mergers and acquisition business transactions
• Retail experience is desirable
• Business partnering evidence, working with multifunctional teams, especially Commercial partners like Sales, Merchandising, Planning and Marketing
