Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager to join the expanding GSE Select Client team. This role is pivotal in managing a portfolio of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans for Wells Fargo's GSE Select Clients. The Asset Manager will oversee all functions related to monitoring the performance of multifamily loans from the initial funding stage until the debt is satisfied or transferred to a special servicer, in accordance with investor guidelines. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the commercial real estate landscape, particularly in relation to GSE loans, and the ability to navigate complex business challenges that may arise throughout the loan lifecycle. In this capacity, the Asset Manager will be responsible for the overall asset management of an assigned portfolio, which includes reviewing and researching multifaceted business challenges that necessitate a thorough evaluation of various factors. The role demands making informed decisions in complex situations, requiring a deep understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that govern the work. Collaboration is key, as the Asset Manager will work closely with peers in Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management and engage with mid-level to experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve strategic goals. Additionally, the Asset Manager will serve as the primary relationship contact for borrowers and property management agents, ensuring exceptional customer service and due diligence in managing the loan portfolio in compliance with investor requirements. Key asset management functions include monitoring and analyzing property-level operating performance, conducting risk assessments, performing physical inspections, and processing lender consents. The role emphasizes a strong commitment to building customer relationships while maintaining a robust risk management and compliance culture, which is essential for the success of both the customers and the company.
