About the position

The Vice President of Development at Anthos|Home will lead a small but high-performing Development team focused on raising significant private revenue to support the organization's mission of housing vulnerable New Yorkers. This role is critical as the organization aims to increase private funding by 50% over the next three years. The VP will oversee the Development team, manage relationships with funders, and implement strategies to secure substantial corporate and foundation support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Development team in setting annual revenue goals and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Mentor and support team members to meet ambitious revenue targets.
  • Oversee data gathering and analytics to support fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies for increasing philanthropic income.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate and foundation funders, serving as an ambassador for the organization.
  • Manage a portfolio of institutional and individual funders to build comprehensive partnerships.
  • Review grant proposals and budgets, ensuring alignment with fundraising strategies.
  • Plan and execute the organization's first fundraising event in 2026.
  • Collaborate with the Program team to engage key funders.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of institutional, corporate, and foundation funders.
  • Experience in individual fundraising and managing major gift donors.
  • Strong understanding of institutional giving processes, proposals, and budget development.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with a Board of Directors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce and Slack or similar applications.
  • Familiarity with AI and social media in fundraising contexts.
