About the position

Omaha School of Music and Dance is seeking a passionate and dedicated Strings Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music, preferably with a degree in Music Performance or Music Education, although we welcome all applicants who are enthusiastic about teaching strings. This part-time position offers the flexibility to choose your own hours, primarily in the evenings and on weekends, allowing you to tailor your schedule to fit your lifestyle. As a Strings Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach private lessons in violin, viola, and cello, as well as group violin classes. At OSMD, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment for both our instructors and students. Our administrative staff is dedicated to handling the logistics of scheduling, communication with parents, tuition billing, and make-up lesson arrangements, so you can focus on what you love most—teaching music! We are looking for someone who is organized, punctual, reliable, and fun, as these qualities are essential for creating an engaging learning experience for our students. Responsibilities

  • Teach private and group lessons in violin, viola, and cello.
  • Create engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.

  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure smooth scheduling and billing processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Music Performance or Music Education preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in teaching strings instruments is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, primarily evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with group teaching or ensemble coaching.
  • Familiarity with various teaching methods and styles.
  • Ability to play multiple string instruments.
