About the position

The position at Intuit involves providing expert guidance and tax preparation services to customers, specifically focusing on business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. The role is integral to advancing Intuit's mission of 'Powering Prosperity Around the World' and includes shaping the direction of TurboTax Live Business. The successful candidate will leverage their tax expertise to assist customers in completing their taxes using Intuit's TurboTax Business products, while ensuring high-quality customer interactions and compliance with tax laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and tax preparation for business tax returns.
  • Manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations.
  • Assist TurboTax Business customers with tax advice and full-service business return preparation.
  • Utilize video communications software to interact with customers professionally.
  • Document customer interactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Work towards meeting company key performance metrics and goals.
  • Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong business tax preparation experience with 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S).
  • Active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
  • Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 tax returns per tax year.
  • Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers is preferred.
  • Possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
  • Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Commit to a minimum schedule of at least 20 hours/week throughout the tax season.
  • Working knowledge of Circular 230.
  • Proficient with technology and solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with commercial tax preparation software.
  • Experience in a tax practice or retail setting for compensation.
