About the position

The Visual Brand Manager is responsible for leading and evolving the visual identity of IHS across all platforms, ensuring consistency, innovation, and strategic execution of creative assets. This role oversees branding, video production, and graphic design efforts while fostering a high-performing creative team. This individual leverages emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance content production, quality, and expansion into new mediums. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Visual Brand Manager sets the artistic vision and ensures that all creative output aligns with IHS’s mission, goals, and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the visual steward of the IHS brand, ensuring consistent and compelling creative across all media channels, including print, digital, and video.
  • Develop and execute creative strategies that elevate brand recognition, engage audiences, and drive organizational goals.
  • Design and develop marketing materials, publications, infographics, and promotional assets that align with brand aesthetics and messaging.
  • Oversee video storytelling, motion graphics, and content production, ensuring engaging and high-quality visual communication.
  • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with Communications and Marketing, Development, and Leadership to develop integrated campaigns and creative assets.
  • Leverage AI and emerging creative technologies to streamline and enhance content production.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in design, video, and branding to keep IHS at the forefront of visual communication.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor workflow, managing relationships with external creative vendors and freelancers, as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in creative direction, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and execute compelling visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), or comparable tools.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with an emphasis on vendor and contractor oversight rather than internal team supervision.
  • Expertise in leveraging emerging creative technologies, including AI-driven tools, to optimize content workflows and increase production efficiency.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business objectives and organizational strategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Copyediting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with video editing preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, classical liberal ideas preferred.
