About The Position

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for the overall merchandise presentation in DTLR stores, ensuring an exemplary display of all brands. This role involves conducting daily store visits, training store teams on visual merchandising standards, and creating engaging window and in-store displays to enhance customer experience and drive sales.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training in visual merchandising or retail.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of the English language for effective communication.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
  • Ability to think strategically and plan effectively with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to administrative problems.
  • Results-driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills.
  • Project management, time management, analytical, and superior organizational skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail merchandising or visual presentation.
  • Familiarity with the DTLR brand and its products.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain compelling merchandise presentations to engage customers and stimulate sales activity.
  • Drive timelines for retailer seasonal updates and ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs at stores using the Workforce Experience app to maintain high visual merchandising standards.
  • Submit daily photo postings in the Workforce Experience app to show before and after work for review by the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager.
  • Re-merchandise apparel and footwear setups, window presentations, in-store displays, and point of sale areas to maximize product sell-through.
  • Coordinate with the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager on specific visual needs such as fixtures, lighting, photos, signage, and pricing concepts.
  • Implement the company's visual merchandising directives throughout the stores, ensuring compliance with vendor requirements.
  • Communicate with Store Manager and District Manager regarding visual merchandising successes and opportunities.
  • Provide daily follow-through on all areas of merchandising via email.
  • Train and motivate store teams about visual merchandising standards and maintenance.
  • Partner with the Buying Team to understand key merchandising strategies and communicate inventory levels or issues.
  • Assist the District Manager in holding store teams accountable for visual maintenance and executing visual directives.
