About the position
We are currently seeking a VoTech-Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at our North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM). NARM is the largest surface coal mine in the US and is located in Wright, Wyoming. The mine produces high quality thermal coal that is loaded onto haul trucks and then shipped by rail. It has approximately 465 million tons of coal reserves. As part of Campbell County, Wright is a safe, tight-knit community with outstanding schools, and various recreational opportunities. Peabody's NARM Mine has a safety-first culture and strives to have zero recordable MSHA injuries/incidents. Under supervision will safely perform welding and mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment (heavy and light duty) including Haul Trucks, Dozers, Loaders, Blades, Scrapers, Rubber Tire Dozers, etc. that are utilized in the mining industry. Assist in the maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of mining and mining support equipment.
Responsibilities
- Currently enrolled in mechanical or welding vo-tech degree program
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of CRF30 and NEC
- Knowledge of control systems on mobile mining equipment
- Knowledge of electrical construction techniques
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and information, parts catalogs, maintenance manuals and other printed material (such as operator's manuals, blue prints and schematics)
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day
Requirements
- Enrolled in A.A.S Electrical Technology or Industrial Electricity program
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of CRF30 and NEC
- Knowledge of control systems on mobile mining equipment
- Knowledge of electrical construction techniques
