About the position

The VP, Global Engineering and R&D at CTS Corporation is responsible for leading the Engineering Product Development, Innovation, and Research & Development Teams within the Advanced Materials and Solutions Business Unit. This role focuses on strategic planning, product design, and ensuring high-quality execution of product initiatives to meet company objectives. The VP will foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration while developing strong internal and external relationships to deliver quality products efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic vision and leadership to shape processes and best practices for an agile and lean workforce.
  • Contribute to the accomplishment of key performance indicators including safety, quality, production, cost, and development.
  • Guide and support global teams, advising on new product development efforts.
  • Develop the CTS company culture through coaching, development, and supervision of R&D staff.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customer interfaces.
  • Create a strong talent pool and pipeline through co-op programs and career development for the engineering function.
  • Ensure necessary skills, competencies, and tools are available for product development activities.
  • Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Program & Product Management, Purchasing, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, and Operations.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in engineering and R&D roles.
  • Strong background in product development and innovation.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the automotive, communications, medical, defense, or aerospace industries.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related field.
