About the position
The Ware Engineer position at VMware is a critical role focused on supporting the Infrastructure Services for a healthcare domain client. This position is 100% onsite in Irving, TX, and local candidates are preferred. The engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining mission-critical systems, which include server and storage solutions such as SAN and NAS, as well as VMware technologies. The role requires a deep understanding of various infrastructure components and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively in a high-stakes environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with a minimum of 12 years of experience in IT and engineering. This includes at least 6 years of hands-on experience with storage solutions, specifically HPE, Dell, and Qumulo systems. Additionally, the candidate should possess at least 5 years of experience working with hypervisors, including VMware, HyperV, Nutanix, or Scale, with a focus on VMware vSphere and vCenter. The role also demands at least 3 years of server and infrastructure support, particularly with VMware, Dell, and HPE platforms, as well as experience in Windows administration, which is preferred. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of the infrastructure services that support critical healthcare operations. The engineer will work closely with other IT professionals to implement solutions that enhance system performance and security, while also providing support for ongoing infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain mission-critical systems including server and storage solutions (SAN/NAS).

Requirements
- 4-year Technical Degree (MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent).
- MCSE certification in MS Windows 2008 or Windows 2012 technologies with specialization in Messaging or Cloud Infrastructure platforms.
- 12+ years of IT/Engineering experience.
- 6+ years of Storage (SANS/NAS) support with hands-on experience in HPE, Dell, and Qumulo.
- 5+ years of experience with Hypervisors like VMware, HyperV, Nutanix, or Scale, specifically VMware vSphere and vCenter.
- 3+ years of Server/Infrastructure support specific to VMware, Dell, and HPE platforms.
- 3+ years of Windows Administration (preferred).
