About the position
The Shipping Clerk position at JIT Synergy is a temporary-to-hire role focused on efficient and accurate packing of orders within a warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will utilize their computer skills for inventory management and ensure timely shipping processes, contributing to the overall effectiveness of warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick items from designated locations based on order specifications.
- Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform quality checks on picked and packed items.
- Regularly update and maintain accurate records of stock movements.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Prepare shipping documents, including labels and packing slips.
- Verify shipping addresses and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.
- Proficiently use warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory management.
- Familiarity with basic office software for data entry and communication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues related to computer systems.
- Conduct thorough checks on picked and packed items to maintain quality standards.
- Report and address any discrepancies or damaged goods promptly.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, especially in picking, packing, and shipping.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier coordination, and labeling requirements.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice-to-haves
- Training in logistics is a plus.
- Ability to work on multiple orders simultaneously when required.
