About the position

This position will perform warehouse work related to the receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials. The role involves loading, unloading, moving, or storing items according to delivery, routing documents, or supervisor instructions. The employee will operate a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment as necessary to facilitate these tasks. Key responsibilities include receiving and counting stock items, recording data manually or using a computer, and packing and unpacking items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. The employee will verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical stock counts, investigating discrepancies, or adjusting errors as needed. It is essential to store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas to ensure efficient operations. Additionally, the employee will mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas is crucial to ensure compliance with safety regulations. The employee will determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and the physical capabilities of facilities. Keeping records on the use or damage of stock or stock handling equipment is also a key responsibility. The employee will examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors, and providing assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers as needed.
