About the position

The Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator at Taplin Group, LLC is responsible for maintaining an organized warehouse space and ensuring that all inventory needs are met efficiently. This role involves supporting various departments by managing materials and small equipment requests, which includes loading and unloading project pick lists. The coordinator will play a crucial role in the overall inventory management process, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and that any replenishment needs are communicated promptly. In addition to inventory management, the coordinator will be tasked with preparing equipment and picking inventory supplies for projects according to the load list. This includes conducting thorough inventory checks of all returned equipment and supplies from completed projects, as well as receiving and examining incoming shipments from vendors. The role also encompasses general yard maintenance, which involves snow and salting removal during winter months and weed control in the summer. Regular inspections of equipment and supplies are required, including annual inspections and weekly checks of the perimeter fence to ensure safety and compliance. The Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator will also operate equipment necessary for loading and unloading supplies and may exercise lead direction for part-time or temporary yard help. A strong understanding of the various departments within the company and the equipment used is essential for success in this role. The coordinator will maintain the inventory system as required and may be asked to perform additional tasks to meet the overall objectives of the Taplin Companies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized warehouse
  • Prepare equipment and pick inventory supplies for projects per the load list
  • Inventory all returned equipment and supplies from completed projects
  • Communicate inventory supply requirements for ordering
  • Receive and examine incoming shipments from vendors
  • Perform general yard maintenance including snow/salting removal in winter and weed control in summer
  • Conduct annual equipment/supply inspections as required
  • Perform weekly inspections of the perimeter fence
  • Operate equipment to load/unload supplies
  • Exercise lead direction for part-time or temporary yard help
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the companies departments and equipment used within the departments
  • Maintain inventory system as required

Requirements

  • Warehouse and/or distribution experience
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task while attending to details
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet skills
  • Strong customer service skills and strong persuasion skills
  • Chauffeur License - Clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Company's current auto insurance carrier
