About the position

The Warehouse Material Handler plays a crucial role in the fulfillment of customer orders by efficiently retrieving and stacking specific products as indicated on the Pick Ticket or computer screen. This position is located in Paducah, KY, and offers a starting pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Material Handler is to ensure that products are accurately picked and stacked onto pallets, meeting the company's standards for safety, accuracy, and efficiency. This involves navigating the warehouse's pick area and building stable pallets of products that are ready for shipment. In addition to picking and stacking products, the Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for transporting these pallets to various locations within the warehouse using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), specifically a pallet jack. The role also includes maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, performing daily checks on the PIT equipment, and addressing any issues that may arise during operations. The Warehouse Material Handler must be adaptable, as the work environment can change throughout the day, requiring flexibility in schedules and tasks. The position demands a strong attention to detail, as the handler must accurately read and interpret instructions from a computer screen and differentiate between various packages. The ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and non-climate-controlled environment is essential, as is the capacity to lift and move heavy items safely. Overall, this role is vital to the smooth operation of the warehouse and the satisfaction of customer orders.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves and places quantities of cases of product onto a pre-determined pallet as instructed by the assigned Pick Ticket.
  • Travels to and transports pallets of stacked product to different areas of the warehouse via a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) - Pallet Jack.
  • Assists in warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping as assigned or as needed.
  • Performs daily PIT checklist and alerts warehouse management of any issues discovered.
  • Corrects any mistakes discovered and informed of by the checker to product and/or quantity.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience.
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience with PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack.
