Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • 3 years of supervising experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of warehouse experience (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations with prior leadership roles
  • Good supervisory skills and ability to work with and through others
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to generate, read, and interpret computerized reports
  • Ability to juggle operational and administrative tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to concentrate and focus while dealing with frequent interruptions
  • Basic computer skills required, especially experience in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead associates in a specific shift/area while supervising warehouse operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to stores serviced through accurate handling of inbound and outbound product.
  • Coach and engage hourly associates towards high productivity, safety, and quality performance.
  • Develop and demonstrate effective leadership skills and tactics during day-to-day operation.
  • Motivate associates through positive reinforcement and behavior.
  • Promote a safety culture by example, observation feedback and associate relations.
  • Coordinate with peer leaders to balance the workflow of the Distribution Center.
  • Make and support decisions that are consistent with the local union labor agreement.
  • Walk the warehouse on a regular basis throughout the shift to ensure compliance on sanitation and quality expectations.
  • Maintain visibility to associates in support of our Open Door Policy.
  • Leverage technology systems to investigate operational issues.
  • Coordinate weekly associate work schedules.
  • Maintain open and constant communication with the Transportation Department to facilitate inbound/outbound flow of product.
  • Coordinate with other cross functional departments (including Inventory Control, Procurement, Building Maintenance, Sanitation, etc.)
