About the position

Supervises the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials. Maintains stock records and schedules. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Oversees quality service by following organization standards. Maintains safe and clean work environment by ensuring shelves, pallet area, and workstations are neat; clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Makes sure that Warehouse minimum Standards are fully met (WMS attached).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees equipment including conducting daily forklift inspections and evaluations.
  • Conduct Hazmat Material Training to warehouse staff.
  • Conduct Forklift training.
  • Contract temporary contracts if needed.
  • Ensure all unknown cargo is identified within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Maintain organization and presentation of the warehouse.
  • Conduct timely inspections as per requests.
  • Take required photos reflecting needed information.
  • Perform all warehouse services within requested time frames.
  • Scan all documentation into the system within stipulated time frames.
  • Properly mark documentation in case of exceptions.
  • Enter warehouse receipts into the system at the time of driver check-in.
  • Produce needed reports via operational system or other software.
  • Understand warehouse costs and optimize costs per segregation.
  • Control warehouse supplies and inventory.
  • Coordinate operation times (opening and closing hours).
  • Coordinate trucking with operational team (FCL, Groupages).
  • Coordinate FCL Segregation with warehouse staff.
  • Ensure compliance with ID Check/SSI Cargo Acceptance Sheet for all drivers.
  • Ensure proper sign-up of drivers.
  • Ensure all temp workers have gone through appropriate training.
  • Ensure all temp workers have a visitors' badge.
  • Reply to all emails as per company policy.
  • Lodge claims for damage and loss cargo as per company policy.
  • Resolve discrepancies and keep records via Innovations and Incidents Management (IIM).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
  • Familiar with basic freight forwarding procedures.
  • At least four years of previous warehouse related experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Must be able to understand, follow orders, communicate, read and write English.
  • Perform duties assigned by the Branch Manager.
  • Able to communicate efficiently with employees at all levels.
  • Experience and knowledge of Outlook, Fed Ex, UPS software.
  • Forklift experience and certification (on site certification available).
  • Must be HAZ certified.
  • Must be able to pass TSA background check.
  • Must be available on weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge in ULD Building.
