The Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC) is seeking a dynamic individual with a blend of technical and creative skills to join its communications team. As a university-affiliated research center (UARC) of the United States Department of Defense (DoD), SERC is anchored at Stevens Institute of Technology and collaborates with faculty researchers from over 25 universities across the nation. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the SERC website, focusing on improving its visual appeal, information organization, and overall user experience. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of relevant experience, demonstrating proficiency in creating and editing web pages that effectively communicate the center's mission and research initiatives. In addition to web content management, the role involves uploading reports and maintaining the SERC research database, where accuracy in handling names, titles, technical terms, and other details is paramount. The candidate must be adept at quickly responding to various project demands while also being skilled in accessing, organizing, analyzing, and presenting website data using Google Analytics. A strong understanding of how communication evolves with technology is essential, as is the ability to analyze data to inform strategic decisions and ideas. Moreover, the position requires experience in organizing and managing virtual events on platforms such as Zoom and Teams. Familiarity with government operations, particularly within the DoD, is highly desirable.
