About The Position

The Welder position at Canam Group Inc. involves performing various welding tasks on company products while adhering to safety and quality standards. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Welding experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic reading and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform production welding and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Produce CJP, PJP, and fillet welds in all welding positions using FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
• Produce CJP, PJP welds in the 1G and 2G welding positions and fillet welds in the 1F and 2F positions using SAW-A and SAW-SA processes.
• Operate various pieces of grinding equipment for extended periods.
• Inspect products to ensure quality and identify unacceptable areas.
• Set up and operate mechanical and manual cutting devices.
• Set and use air carbon arc gouging equipment.
• Set up and operate all welding equipment effectively.
• Understand and interpret shop drawings, prints, and weld symbols.
• Read and use standard and metric measuring devices.
• Assist in training efforts and mentor other welding personnel.
• Maintain equipment and work area, identifying potential hazards and making necessary corrections.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
