About the position

The Well Dukes Graduate Assistant for Personal Well-Being is a part-time position within the Health and Wellbeing division at James Madison University. This role involves facilitating Well Dukes Coaching, which is an evidence-informed early intervention program aimed at supporting students' personal well-being. The assistant will participate in ongoing training and professional development to ensure the fidelity of coaching skills and will assist in building partnerships with student affinity groups to enhance engagement in health promotion initiatives. The position also includes supporting the implementation of assessment tools and maintaining documentation of student participation.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Well Dukes Coaching for students who self-refer or are mandated as part of university requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including observation and team consultation.
  • Assist Well Dukes staff in identifying and building partnerships with student affinity groups.
  • Support campus-wide outreach and training initiatives related to personal well-being.
  • Edit and develop personal well-being tools and resources.
  • Serve on campus committees or task forces as needed.
  • Support the implementation of assessment and fidelity tools for personal well-being initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent processes for scheduling, tracking, and documenting student attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Must be conditionally or unconditionally accepted into a graduate program to receive the assistantship.
  • Must maintain at least a 3.0 graduate GPA to retain or reapply for the assistantship.

Benefits

  • Stipend of $10,001 for the duration of the assistantship.
