About the position

The Wellness Manager (RN or LPN) is responsible for overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the highest quality of care for residents in an assisted living facility. This evening position requires supervision of nursing activities, medication administration, and collaboration with the Director of Wellness to maintain quality care standards. The role involves direct interaction with residents, staff, and families, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff.
  • Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents and retirement residents if needed.
  • Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness (DOW) / Delegating R.N. / Physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor's orders in an accurate, safe manner, observing effectiveness and reporting to physician if needed.
  • Inform DOW of when supplies and equipment are needed.
  • Order medication from pharmacy when needed.
  • Supervise the Home Health Aide to ensure that all nursing care is given properly, safely, and of the utmost quality.
  • Administer emergency first aid.
  • Assure that daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties performed by nurse and HHA are carried out as outlined by DOW.
  • Make daily rounds of all patients and areas.
  • Recognize, interpret, and report conditions to the DOW/RN/ED as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse's station, med room, and cart.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff.
  • Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
  • Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
  • Provide guidance for nursing assistants.
  • Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
  • Work experience in the geriatric field.
  • Ability to communicate well and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with visitors, staff, and residents in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure at times.
  • Must be able to perform good grooming practices, personal hygiene, and be punctual and regular in attendance.
  • Must have a warm, friendly, congenial personality.
  • Must present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude towards seniors.
  • Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed.
  • CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
