About the position

The Wire EDM Programmer position at James Tool, Machine & Engineering is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of Wire EDM processes, programming, set-up, and operation of the machine. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming the Wire EDM offline and developing plans for upcoming jobs while the machine is in operation. This role also involves performing periodic maintenance on Mitsubishi Wire EDM equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the machines. In addition to Wire EDM programming, the candidate may also be required to operate CNC conversational lathes, mills, and grinders to machine low volume parts during long EDM cycles. James Tool is committed to training the right candidate on these additional pieces of equipment if they do not already possess this knowledge. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing operational needs, as well as a commitment to following the company's AS9100 and ISO9001 processes. Responsibilities

  • Program Wire EDM machines offline and develop job plans while the machine is running.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on Mitsubishi Wire EDM equipment.
  • Operate CNC conversational lathes, mills, and grinders for low volume parts as needed.
  • Follow and support AS9100 and ISO9001 processes.
  • Adapt to changes in day-to-day operations and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Wire EDM processes and programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T and blueprints.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CNC machining equipment such as lathes and mills.
  • Familiarity with CAD and CAM software.
