Wireless Network Architect

About the position

Cape is looking for a Wireless Network Architect. You'll apply first principles thinking to reimagine perhaps the largest tech sector at the global level-telecom. Telecom was the original social media network, down to collecting and selling vast amounts of customer data. You'll need the technical background and project management skills to build premium Voice, Messaging and Wireless Data products and services, with a complex array of vendors and technologies, as well as the vision and insight to build new solutions that meet the needs of sophisticated customers and everyday consumers. This role reports to the Head of Consumer and will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing our voice, messaging, and data products for wireless customers.

Responsibilities

• Build, launch and manage high-performing, high quality voice, data, and messaging services on 4G, 5G, and WiFi networks.
• Manage vendors by specifying configurations, documenting technical specifications, and making architectural decisions.
• Support the launch of the first privacy and security-focused telco.
• Achieve industry-leading NPS.
• Solve hard, novel problems like optimizing voice and messaging products and mitigating fraud without tracking or identifying users.
• Establish tools, platforms, and processes that make development easy and fast in support of Agile development.

Requirements

• At least 6 years prior wireless voice, messaging, and network architect experience.
• Sufficient technical knowledge and proficiency to outline clear requirements, configurations, and technical specifications for both internal engineers and external vendors.
• Working knowledge and experience with the implementation of Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Voice over LTE (VoLTE), WiFi Calling, Voice Over New Radio (VoNR), Short Message Service Center (SMSC) Configurations, Features, and standards, Multimedia Message Center (MMSC) Configurations, Features, and standards.
• Knowledge of IMS architecture and its protocols like SIP, Diameter, etc.
• Experience in deployment, testing, and debugging of 5G network components like AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM and UDSF.
• Experience in deployment, testing, and debugging of VoLTE and IMS network components including EPC Core, P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, TAS, SccAS, IP-SM-GW, SMSC, SBC, MRF.
• Provided guidance for overall IMS solution delivery and deployment including High Level Design documentation.
• Created end-to-end solutions to accommodate customer requirements and integrate them with other nodes in the network.
• Strategic thinking, particularly the ability to prioritize in a structured way, using principles and frameworks.
• Ninja-level project and stakeholder management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and creativity is a plus.
• Experience and interest in privacy or cybersecurity is a plus.
