About the position

TILL, Inc. is seeking an experienced Writer and Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communication team. This role is pivotal in finding, developing, and contributing compelling stories that reflect TILL's mission, core values, culture, and vision. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building our brand and driving engagement by crafting narratives that highlight TILL's unique identity and purpose. This includes sharing success stories of the individuals we support, the dedicated employees who work for us, our innovative programs and services, and significant company milestones. As a Writer and Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for producing engaging content across various formats, including print, digital, and video. Your work will be disseminated through multiple platforms such as our website, blogs, newsletters, social media, and traditional print media. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and creative team player, adept at multitasking and capable of meeting deadlines on various projects with minimal supervision. This position is based in our Dedham office but requires frequent travel to our program sites throughout the Greater Boston area and Southern New Hampshire. Additionally, occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary to capture stories and events. We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about storytelling but also possesses the skills to effectively engage with diverse groups of people, including young adults and adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and Autism. Your ability to connect with these individuals and our staff across various programs and services will be essential in bringing their stories to life.

Responsibilities

• Identify, interview, and write compelling stories that reflect TILL's mission and values.
• Develop print, digital, and video content for various platforms including web, blogs, newsletters, and social media.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to produce engaging narratives.
• Travel to program sites throughout the Greater Boston area and Southern NH to gather stories and content.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines with little supervision.
• Photograph events and interview subjects to complement written content.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience writing and developing stories.
• Proven successful experience in identifying, interviewing, and writing stories.
• Strong project and time management skills to prioritize projects effectively.
• Valid driver's license and access to a car for travel.
• Punctual and consistent attendance with a strong work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of video production, video editing, or graphic design is a plus.
• Experience in the journalism or non-profit sector is strongly preferred.
• Online portfolio or writing samples required.
