The Centralized Publications Technical Writer at JetBlue Airways is responsible for editing and writing content for the JetBlue manual system, ensuring that all publications are distributed to the appropriate crewmembers. This role involves utilizing Centralized Publications authoring tools and managing the distribution repository to maintain all publications according to established standards. The Technical Writer will engage in a variety of tasks including writing, editing, and updating content for company manuals, as well as reviewing and editing technical policy and procedural documents. The goal is to ensure that all documents are logically constructed, clearly presented, and compliant with regulatory and departmental standards. In this position, the Technical Writer will acquire and present information through various methods such as independent reading, interviews with subject-matter experts, and online research. The role requires the ability to independently develop, organize, and present thoughts and information clearly in writing. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for planning and executing work assignments while addressing problems in accordance with established instructions, policies, and accepted practices. Consultation with the Supervisor of Operations Publications will be necessary for unique situations that lack clear precedents. Additionally, tracking project status using departmental procedures and tools is a key responsibility, along with taking on other duties as assigned. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's degree in English or Communications. Candidates should have at least one year of technical writing experience, a solid understanding of XML and/or HTML, and excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential. Occasional overnight travel (approximately 10%) may be required, and candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and be legally eligible to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
