WSC - Java Developer

About the position

IBM Z teams provide technical assistance to Americas clients and the technical community to help drive and retain IBM Z HW and SW revenue. We have IBM Z hardware and software Subject Matter Experts who provide technical leadership in a wide range of workshops, studies, briefings, asset creation, and proofs of technology highlighting leading edge solutions on IBM Z and LinuxONE. The WSC also has a Tools team that these roles will be a part of which provide applications to the global sales organization to perform capacity planning and performance studies.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining internal and external facing performance and capacity planning tools.
• Supporting IBM and Business Partner sellers and tech sellers with technical sales activities involving IBM z hardware and software.
• Collaborating with peers on performance and capacity planning tools (CPS Tools) developed in Java.
• Building, installing, configuring, and enhancing CPS Tools (CP3000, zPCR, zBNA).
• Creating supporting collateral.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in IT Industry creating efficient, scalable, and high-performance web applications.
• Proven work experience as a developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous projects.
• Hands-on Java experience.
• Strong Java experience.
• Agile Methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

• CI/CD Tools: Git, GitHub, Travis CI, Jenkins, Artifactory.
• Exceptional knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and object-oriented programming.
• Open Shift, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Python / Javascript.
