About the position

The X-Ray & Medical Technologist is responsible for taking good quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol in an efficient and accurate manner. This role involves capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter into the EMR in a timely manner. The position requires performing common X-ray studies within specified time limits, using internal X-ray and care coordination software, facilitating necessary diagnostic tests, assisting physicians with medical procedures, and providing compassionate care to patients. The technologist will also assist with training new hires and maintain accurate logs and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Taking good quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol
• Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter into the EMR
• Performing common X-ray studies in a reasonable amount of time
• Using internal X-ray and care coordination software for documentation
• Facilitating necessary diagnostic tests and referrals to specialists
• Assisting the physician with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under guidance
• Assisting with CLIA waived tests and EKGs under supervision
• Keeping track of materials needed for imaging
• Maintaining an accurate QA log book
• Providing compassionate care to patients
• Assisting Medical Assistants with facility stocking
• Training and acclimating new hire X-ray techs and scribes

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program
• 4-6 months experience as a X-ray Technologist
• Ability to explain, process, and position patients for X-ray
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Functional and practical knowledge of various computer systems
• Positive attitude and passion for outstanding results
• Excellent communication and bedside manner
• Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
