The Radiology Technologist position is responsible for managing the delivery of care and ensuring patient safety while performing diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves operating imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and producing quality diagnostic images. The technologist will also oversee daily operations of radiology functions, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Manage delivery of care and patient safety.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions to minimize anxiety.
  • Operate CR/Digital X-ray system and imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform Bone Density exams and document patient history.
  • Assess patients for potential risk factors and ensure proper identification in PACS.
  • Clarify and follow doctor's orders, scanning necessary information in PACS.
  • Complete procedures within an acceptable time frame and produce quality diagnostic images.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the x-ray room and adhere to infection control standards.
  • Perform QA/QC testing as required by state regulations.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments based on changing situations.
  • Consult and communicate with other departments professionally.
  • Plan delivery of care according to patient activity and staff competencies.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist in performing fluoroscopic procedures and document fluoroscopy time.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks on equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Verify exams in the PACS system.
  • Diploma from a vocational/technical school required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 0-1 years of experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
  • Prior radiology technologist experience required.
  • Knowledge of procedural details required.
  • ARRT certificate required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • License from NJ Bureau of Radiological Health required.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations and high accuracy required.
  • Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking, and priority setting skills required.
  • Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
  • Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
