About the position

The X-Ray Technician - Medical Assistant position at MD Now involves providing expert patient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. The role includes performing imaging services, taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, and assisting with patient check-in and check-out processes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs and collect lab specimens.
  • Perform EKGs and administer IM injections.
  • Conduct all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders and update patient charts accordingly.
  • Collect patient history and document in EHR appropriately.
  • Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
  • Assist with check-in/check-out processes, including auditing charts.
  • Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work and drug screens.
  • Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
  • Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
  • Radiological Technologist (RT) or Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BMXO / BMO) license is required in state of residency.
  • Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
  • Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in urgent care or emergency settings.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
