About the position
The position involves performing a wide variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. The individual will need to apply appropriate skills to facilitate diagnoses and may be assigned independent responsibilities by the Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. Proper care of clients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures is essential. The role may also include responsibilities for supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by the Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. Infection control and body substance isolation practices must be adhered to in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards. Maintaining patient confidentiality is a critical aspect of the job. The individual will demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems and will be expected to operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications. Attendance at annual mandatory education sessions, including topics such as blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation, is required. Maintaining department competencies is also necessary.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and ingenuity.
- Apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis.
- Assume independent responsibilities as assigned by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager.
- Provide proper care of clients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
- Supervise or instruct department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.
- Practice infection control and body substance isolation in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
- Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications.
- Attend annual mandatory education sessions to maintain competencies.
Requirements
- Must have completed formal AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
- CPR certification required.
- MALIC - Massachusetts Radiology License required.
- ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography certification required.
- Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high stress, work intensive environment.
- Attendance at all mandatory education is required.
