About the position

The Middlesex Sheriff's Office (MSO) is seeking qualified candidates for our Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA). The goal of the YPSA is to establish respect and trust between children and law enforcement professionals. Counselors will help children build confidence and work as a team while focusing on the duties and responsibilities of law enforcement personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate camp registrations.
  • Ensure there are adequate supplies for the YPSA on a weekly basis.
  • Work well with children in a positive educational environment.
  • Teach 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old children about public safety.
  • Perform other related work as needed.

Requirements

  • Seventeen (17) years or older prior to start date.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must attend a temporary training academy.
  • Must have an active valid driver's license.
  • Must have the right to legally operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Subject to mandatory random drug testing.
