About the position

As a Youth Soccer Coach at Super Soccer Stars, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the soccer skills and sportsmanship of children across various age groups and skill levels. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and lead engaging soccer training sessions that not only teach fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting but also foster teamwork and cooperation among young players. You will be tasked with organizing and supervising soccer games and scrimmages, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a fun and supportive environment. In addition to leading training sessions, you will provide constructive feedback and guidance to players, helping them to improve their skills and confidence on the field. Developing age-appropriate practice plans and drills will be essential to keep the training sessions engaging and effective. Safety is a top priority, and you will be responsible for ensuring that all participants are safe during training sessions and games. Promoting sportsmanship, fair play, and positive behavior among players will also be a key aspect of your role. Communication with parents and guardians is vital, as you will need to keep them informed about their child's progress and any upcoming events. This position requires a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead soccer training sessions for children of various ages and skill levels
  • Teach fundamental soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork
  • Organize and supervise soccer games and scrimmages
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to players to help them improve their skills
  • Develop practice plans and drills that are age-appropriate and engaging
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during training sessions and games
  • Promote sportsmanship, fair play, and positive behavior among players
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding player progress and upcoming events

Requirements

  • Previous experience coaching or playing soccer is preferred
  • Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents/guardians
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and manage training sessions
  • Patience and the ability to work with children of different ages and skill levels
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with students in other sports such as physical education, swimming, karate, martial arts, cheerleading, judo, or similar activities can be considered relevant experience for this position
  • Ability to manage behavior in a positive manner
