About the position

The Senior Software Engineer will join the F-35 Sensor Fusion Software team, focusing on the design, development, testing, and integration of real-time embedded fusion software. This role is critical in advancing technologies that enhance the capabilities of the F-35 platform, requiring a strong proficiency in algorithm development and C++ programming.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and integration of real-time embedded software.
• Collaborate on the development of complex software systems using C++ and UML design techniques, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Engage with cross-functional teams, contributing to project planning, problem-solving, and system optimization.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of software practices and processes to meet project objectives and industry standards.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in algorithm development and application of technical standards in software engineering.
• Expertise in C++ programming, with experience in UML design and real-time embedded systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project leads, engineers, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong time-management, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Visual Studio and proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, BitBucket, Git, etc.)
• Strong algorithm skills in areas such as State Estimation, Control Logic, Kalman Filters, Guidance/Nav/Control, Combat Identification, Data Association, and Sensor scheduling.
• Experience communicating complex technical designs to software engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
• Experience briefing military personnel.
