About the position

The Senior UX Email Product Designer/Developer is responsible for designing and developing responsive emails for Target's operational communications. This role involves creating high-quality email code, collaborating with a team of designers and developers, and ensuring that emails are user-centered and aligned with brand standards. The position requires a blend of design and coding skills to enhance the digital experience for Target's guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Create world-class, responsive email code for the operational side of Target.com.
  • Explore personalization and human-centered design in email communications.
  • Generate new concepts and facilitate A/B testing based on feedback.
  • Own final email code delivery, primarily using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Create fluid, responsive front-end HTML designs and connect back-end services using AMPscript.
  • Execute end-to-end testing of each email using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Litmus.
  • Participate in the UX process from discovery to production.
  • Leverage insights and data to pursue user-centric outcomes.
  • Create design deliverables such as journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, and accessibility team members.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with HTML/CSS front-end coding for email.
  • Minimum of 3 years of coding and email development for Marketing Automation platforms.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Litmus, Email on Acid, or equivalent testing tools.
  • Willingness to adopt new technologies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and the design process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to translate technical explanations to non-technical parties.
  • Passion for email design and development.
  • Experience with AMPscript is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional email service providers (ESPs) beyond Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
