About the position

The Technical Product Manager will lead the development of custom software applications within the financial or wealth management sector, utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to align product development with strategic enterprise goals, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product strategies and roadmaps for custom applications tailored to financial and wealth management customers.
  • Serve as the product leader in a SAFe Agile environment responsible for managing backlogs, prioritizing features, and coordinating with Agile Release Trains to ensure successful product increments.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including senior leadership, stakeholders, and development teams to gather requirements, set expectations, and communicate product progress.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and quality assurance teams to deliver high-quality applications on time, acting as the primary liaison between technical and business teams.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and user feedback sessions to identify trends, assess new opportunities, and validate assumptions to continuously improve products.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations, updates, and training sessions for various audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment on goals, status, and direction.
  • Ensure product development complies with financial industry regulations and risk management practices, working with legal and compliance teams to address potential challenges proactively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of product management experience, preferably in financial services or wealth management, with a strong focus on custom application development.
  • Certified SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager or higher SAFe certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles, software development processes, and project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and other agile tools.
  • Familiarity with the financial, investment, or wealth management industry including trends, compliance requirements, and customer needs.
