About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Global Workforce Management tech team, you will lead the development of innovative workforce tools that significantly impact retail sectors. You will work with a talented team to create cloud-based microservices using Node.js and Java, while also leveraging frontend technologies like Typescript and React. This role involves collaborating with business partners to implement best practices and rapidly scale the platform across international markets in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with several teams to develop technical components and deploy micro-services in public/private cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers on infrastructure layers using NodeJS, Java, Spring, Typescript, React, React Native, and Docker.
  • Write solid, scalable, quality, reusable code in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Apply software development practices such as CI/CD, TDD, Scrum, and Agile.
  • Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by translating requirements into technical solutions and conducting unit testing.
  • Lead small groups of engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned projects by providing direction and performing design and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide support to the business by responding to user questions and concerns, identifying solutions, and facilitating resolutions.
  • Lead the discovery phase of projects to develop high-level designs in partnership with product management and user experience teams.
  • Demonstrate expertise in development and improvement of action plans, providing guidance to others.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to implement business solutions and monitor progress.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Solid background in Azure cloud architecture, Java, and React framework.
  • Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD, High-Availability, Auto-Scaling, and IaC/IaaS.
  • Several years of experience developing with Docker, Kubernetes, and NoSQL.
  • Proficient in Git, Jira, and Scrum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
