About the position

The Operations Specialist at REI Co-op plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization and availability of merchandise on the sales floor. This position is essential for ensuring that customers have access to accurately priced products while also supporting the overall operations of the store. The role involves various tasks, including unloading shipments, organizing stock, and assisting customers, all while embodying REI's values and commitment to the outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Unload and distribute merchandise from replenishment shipments.
• Price, organize, hang, or distribute merchandise according to REI stocking policies and procedures.
• Help with sale preparation and recovery, process damaged or returned merchandise.
• Support store pick-up, including receiving and processing products.
• Provide maintenance services to all areas of the store.
• Organize and maintain store warehouse, supplies, and fixtures.
• Assist customers with questions about products, memberships, and services.
• Follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Store retail experience (preferred).
• Enjoys communicating and building relationships, both inside and outside the organization.
