About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Sally Beauty plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing store operations, leading associates, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. This position involves developing strategies to meet performance indicators and financial targets while maintaining brand standards. The Assistant Manager is responsible for various operational aspects, including training staff, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe store environment, particularly in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support associates' daily goals to maximize sales and customer loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards including merchandising and marketing.
  • Act as the main point of contact for resolving customer issues.
  • Engage, train, and develop team members to achieve positive results.
  • Recruit and build a strong network of candidates for open positions.
  • Hold team accountable to company policies and maintain positive associate relations.
  • Manage store operations including inventory, payroll, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Ensure a safe store environment and compliance with safety policies.
  • Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 3+ years of retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
  • At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives.
  • Effective communication skills with team and management.
  • Availability to meet the scheduling needs of the business.
  • Cosmetology license desirable, but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management or leadership roles.
