032-Local Delivery Driver

About the position

We are looking for hard working, highly motivated delivery drivers & delivery helpers to continue our tradition of great prices and amazing service. AFW drivers will meet new people every day, providing the best customer experience by delivering, assembling, disassembling, and removing merchandise from our customers' homes. If you like delivering joy, consider a career at American Furniture Warehouse. American Furniture Warehouse has been delivering smiles for over 40 years. Our drivers provide a white glove service, demonstrating how to use merchandise and explaining our policies and procedures. This is a demanding and rewarding position! First year drivers average $25.59-36.65 per hour! We pay every Friday. Additionally, we offer 70 hours of sick pay annually, 40-80 hours of vacation annually, and 2 personal days each year. We also provide company training and leadership development tracks for promotion opportunities, along with gym facilities in most work locations and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, assemble, disassemble, and remove merchandise from customers' homes.
• Provide a white glove service by demonstrating how to use merchandise and explaining policies and procedures.
• Work closely with a partner to perform deliveries.
• Efficiently and safely load and unload furniture to and from a delivery truck.
• Assemble/disassemble furniture correctly and efficiently using a variety of tools.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Partner with multiple departments to continuously improve processes and maximize efficiency.
• Work independently with little supervision.

Requirements

• Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or less moving violations within the past 3 years.
• Obtain and maintain a D.O.T Physical card (company pays for this).
• Must own your own hand tools (company provides assistance).
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
• Strong interpersonal skills to explain merchandise and policies to customers.
• Ability to team lift merchandise off and on a box truck and in and out of a customer's home.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or delivery roles.
• Familiarity with furniture assembly and disassembly.
