About the position
The Maintenance Technician position at Tom Thumb involves ensuring the safety, productivity, and efficiency of the warehouse building through various maintenance tasks. The role includes repairing and fabricating equipment, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with team members to maintain a clean and functional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the entire warehouse building, both inside and outside, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Repair, fabricate, and weld racks, dock plates, dock doors, and overall building structures.
- Repair dock lights, electrical appliances, and plumbing systems.
- Respond to fire alarms and handle emergency situations.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment as needed.
- Document the use of man-hours and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Assist in developing and updating preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the shop and equipment through regular inspections.
- Work closely with team members and management to coordinate work activities.
Requirements
- Experience in residential remodeling, plumbing, electrical work, welding, garage door repair, and low voltage security systems/cameras.
- Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on industrial equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment repairs.
- Proficient in using computer applications, including MS applications and PMC 2000 software system.
