About the position

The Retail Wine Sales position at Specs Family Partners Ltd involves providing exceptional customer service and maintaining merchandise in a retail environment. Responsibilities

  • Know and actively demonstrate the Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Maintain uniform standards as detailed in the Employee Manual.
  • Demonstrate superior product knowledge.
  • Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor.
  • Recommend merchandise based on guests' needs or desires, focusing on in-house brands.
  • Answer guests' questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
  • Create client relationships with regular guests.
  • Carry product to register counters and assist guests with their purchases.
  • Run a cash register as business dictates.
  • Receive merchandise as business dictates.
  • Prepare promotional events as necessary.
  • Set up displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales.
  • Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness.
  • Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.
  • Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; ensure products are stocked properly.
  • Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding product movement and stock levels.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
  • Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge.
  • Limit personal cell phone use to work-related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carry out directives of management efficiently.
  • Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
  • Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
  • Possess time management skills and prioritize tasks.
  • Manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
  • Stand, lift, carry, walk, bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 21 to work at Spec's.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but experience is valued.
  • Retail sales experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong product knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without assistance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Experience in time management.
