About the position

The CNA-Med/Surg position at Buchanan County Health Center involves assisting in patient care within the Medical Surgical area. The role includes safe transport of patients, documentation of services, and providing constant observation for patients requiring it. Additionally, the CNA will perform general receptionist and clerical duties to ensure the efficient functioning of the Medical Surgical Unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care throughout the Medical Surgical area.
• Safely transport patients using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
• Document services provided to patients accurately.
• Serve as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate unit operations.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and write the English language required.
• Successful completion of CNA certification as required by Iowa Department of Health standards.
• CPR certification required.
• One year of CNA experience preferred.
• Demonstrated self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others.
• Excellent team player and communication skills.
