About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing patient care within the Medical Surgical area. This position involves assisting with patient mobility, ensuring safe transport, and maintaining appropriate documentation. The CNA also serves as an Observer for patients requiring constant supervision to enhance their safety. Additionally, the role includes performing general receptionist and clerical duties to support the efficient operation of the Medical Surgical Unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient care throughout the Medical Surgical area.
- Safely transport patients using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
- Document services provided to patients accurately.
- Serve as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation.
- Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate unit operations.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and write the English language required.
- Successful completion of CNA certification as required by Iowa Department of Health standards.
- CPR certification required.
- One year of CNA experience preferred.
- Demonstrated self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others.
- Excellent team player and communication skills.
