About the position

The Direct Support Professional Caregiver at Sevita is responsible for providing community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on helping participants grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives by developing meaningful relationships and supporting their personal and developmental goals. The position emphasizes compassion, patience, and initiative in assisting individuals with daily activities and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support participants in achieving their developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
• Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.
• Provide support to individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and multi-task effectively.
• Teamwork and time-management skills.
