About the position

As a (Contract) Senior Visual Product Designer at Crunchyroll, you will provide Crunchyroll with a visual refresh to its app experience across mobile, web, and TV. This will help enhance our experiences and delight our anime fans. This is a short-term, one-month contract. You will work with a team of designers who collaborate to evolve the Crunchyroll experience. Your designs should show an understanding of the industry, our competitors, and especially empathy for our users. You will think through problems and use your design expertise to create solutions that provide our users with an outstanding user experience that is elegant, engaging, and functional. In the role of (Contract) Senior Visual Product Designer, you will report to the Director, Product Design. We are considering applicants for the location(s) of San Francisco, Culver City, Dallas, or New York.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visual refresh to the Crunchyroll app experience across mobile, web, and TV.
• Collaborate with a team of designers to evolve the Crunchyroll experience.
• Create designs that demonstrate an understanding of the industry and competitors.
• Utilize design expertise to create solutions that enhance user experience.
• Ensure designs are elegant, engaging, and functional.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional visual design experience.
• Strong visual capabilities and a wide range of styles.
• Experience with brand and identity work.
• Proficiency in design programs like Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Demonstrate a user-centered approach and empathy for end-users.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Adept collaborator working with teams.
• Experience designing visual design language for UI.
• Passion for anime and understanding of anime fandom.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong illustration capabilities.
• Experience designing UI for TV devices.
• Experience working in the streaming or entertainment industry.
• Experience with prototyping.
