In this role as a Territory Sales Manager, your mission is to help LP dramatically grow our Siding business by creating demand for LP SmartSide Trim and Siding products among repair & remodel contractors and ensuring placement in the channels where they purchase siding products. Repair & remodel is the company's highest growth potential segment and you'll be an integral part of a sales team that is actively expanding to make the most of this opportunity. You will own a territory sales plan to achieve annual goals and growth among repair and remodel contractors and the channels where they purchase siding products. You will serve as the area expert on product, proper installation, and warranty coverages, enhancing LP relationships with key customers, developing mutual sales plans, providing conflict resolution where needed, and keeping internal stakeholders informed on a timely basis. Additionally, you will communicate key customer and market trends and opportunities to improve LP's overall understanding of the customer segment. Representing the company in a professional manner consistent with LP's sales process is essential, and you will perform all duties in accordance with environmental and safety rules and regulations. This position requires a proactive approach, as you will be expected to not only manage but also lead by example and drive results alongside your team. You will be responsible for delivering revenue and profit commitments, motivated by being a key driver of the company's growth in a highly visible segment. You will also enjoy developing and managing a team to deliver the highest-level work, while being energized by big challenges and creating a plan to meet those challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Own a territory sales plan to achieve annual goals and growth among repair and remodel contractors and the channels where they purchase siding products
  • Serve as the area expert on product, proper installation, and warranty coverages
  • Enhance LP relationships with key customers, develop mutual sales plans, provide conflict resolution where needed and keep internal stakeholders informed on a timely basis
  • Communicate key customer and market trends and opportunities to improve LP's overall understanding of the customer segment
  • Represent the company in a professional manner consistent with LP's sales process
  • Perform all duties in accordance with environmental and safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of outside sales and new customer development experience
  • Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills with proven results
  • People management experience, excellent leadership skills with the confidence to lead, manage and engage team members (both direct and indirect reports)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a self-starter with a bias toward action
  • Strong skillset in written and oral communication as well as public presentation
  • Strong ability to develop and implement plans while continuously monitoring results and implementing continuous improvement methodologies
  • High level of computer proficiency - experience with Salesforce platform is a plus
  • Understanding of and passion for the building products industry is a plus
  • Experience in the siding and/or exterior replacement products channel is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or related field preferred
