About the position

The Technical Project Manager will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams at Lululemon Athletica, Inc. This position is based in Seattle, WA, and operates in a hybrid work environment. The Project Manager is responsible for creating and managing projects that address internal business challenges while enhancing guest experiences. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that project plans are effectively developed and executed. The ideal candidate will be organized, curious, and skilled in facilitation, with the ability to engage the right stakeholders at the right times to resolve issues and drive project success. In this role, the Project Manager will be tasked with planning, managing, monitoring, and ultimately closing projects that have complex scopes, multiple work streams, and interdependencies. A key aspect of the position involves managing risks and dependencies to optimize team performance and deliver value promptly. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all project tasks are clearly defined, assigned, and tracked. Additionally, the role includes completing all necessary project documentation in accordance with the PMO process and contributing to the continuous improvement of PMO practices. The successful candidate will have experience managing projects in both Agile and Waterfall environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of IT SDLC processes and compliance requirements such as PCI and SOX. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business, along with relevant certifications such as PMP or Scrum. The Project Manager will need to exhibit strong leadership qualities, sound judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to navigate the complexities of project management in a fast-paced and evolving organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to create and manage projects that solve internal business problems.
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and close/handover large projects with complex scope, multiple work streams, and interdependencies.
  • Effectively manage and report on risks and mitigation, scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet timeline and business objectives.
  • Ensure all project/program tasks are clearly understood, assigned, and tracked.
  • Complete all project documentation required based on PMO process.
  • Engage in and communicate ideas for supporting the continuous improvement of PMO processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or business.
  • PMP and/or Scrum certification considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of project management/industry work experience.
  • Familiarity with IT SDLC processes (waterfall and agile) and compliance requirements such as PCI & SOX.
  • Ability to manage project budgets including capital and expense costs.
  • Strong leadership, sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Aptitude to learn and manage change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage teams with competing priorities within deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in decision-making skills (6 years preferred).
  • Experience with PCI & SOX compliance (6 years preferred).
  • Experience in project management/industry (3 years preferred).
