About the position

The Business Systems Analyst position at Modis is a remote contract role focused on providing technical consulting and guidance for a Fortune 500 fintech client. The analyst will work independently or as part of a project team to analyze business processes, define system requirements, and ensure that technology solutions meet client needs. This role requires expertise in the financial services industry and involves liaising between end-users and technical teams, conducting tests, and influencing technology decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Works individually or within a team on technology business consulting projects to meet specific client requirements.
  • Serves as liaison between end-users and consultants during IT and technology consulting projects.
  • Researches and documents client needs, technology, or regulations related to system design and enhancement.
  • Defines product scope, objectives, and requirements; creates detailed specifications for product development and testing.
  • Analyzes marketplace, industry, company, technology trends, and best practices.
  • Devises and modifies processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiencies and solve complex technical problems.
  • Assesses available technologies and recommends solutions to the consulting team.
  • Writes test plans and test cases to ensure application integrity and client needs are met.
  • Conducts various tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance tests.
  • Influences clients and service providers regarding priorities and vendor selection.
  • Acts as team leader for technical aspects of consulting projects and may mentor less experienced analysts.
  • May play a key role in training client and technical support personnel on new systems or procedures.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple end-to-end systems development life cycles and conversion methodologies.
  • Proficiency in business modeling and requirements definition disciplines through UML and use cases.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient/Advanced skill in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge in data analysis.
  • Knowledge in script execution via CMD line.
