The School of Life Sciences (SOLS) Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at Arizona State University (ASU) Tempe campus is seeking a talented and service-oriented Instructional Design Associate. This position is designed to support instructors in utilizing Canvas and other learning technologies effectively. The ideal candidate will be motivated to enhance and optimize teaching and learning experiences through the application of innovative technologies. The TLC is dedicated to guiding faculty in the development and delivery of both immersion on-campus and online courses, ensuring that research-based teaching practices are incorporated and that industry-recognized instructional design and learning technology quality standards are met. As part of the TLC team, the Instructional Design Associate will play a crucial role in promoting educational technology and digital tools that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of course delivery at scale. This role is essential in improving student retention and outcomes by championing the use of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty to support efficient course delivery, ensuring that the integration of various digital learning tools is seamless and effective in an educational setting. Under general direction, the Instructional Design Associate will assist instructional designers, faculty, and other subject matter experts in the design and development of learning materials. This will involve utilizing multiple instructional technologies and applying best practices in teaching and learning. The position requires a proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong emphasis on being a Canvas expert. While the job is primarily located on ASU's Tempe campus, there may be options for remote work arrangements after a successful onboarding and training period, although regular in-person presence in the office is expected to facilitate collaboration with faculty and colleagues.
